{Mint}spiration

Thank God for long weekends! They are a blessing - I can finally breathe a little and I am feeling a lot better. But while everyone is probably busy partying it up, I am studying - a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. Anyway, I am obsessed with mint - the color, not the breath freshener ;) It is definitely going to be my go-to color for Spring and Summer along with coral. Oh and it is also now my fave color almost beating purple (it's currently at a tie now. What a dork, I know). Here's some inspiration of my latest obsession:

So it's settled. My bedroom is going to be painted in mint and white. Focus, we're talking about a few hundred years from now - my dream house, a place to finally call my own, when I'm at that stage in life where I want to settle down and stay in one place. Oh did I mention, preferably overlooking the beach?

My other now destroyed obsession: teacup kittens. For some time, I've been so in love with these tiny cuties, so much in fact, that I even researched them because I was convinced I was getting one. But I'm not. And you shouldn't either. I found out that these little kittens are being 'mass-produced' in kitty mills to feed our obsessions, they are even genetically modified so greedy people can make a buck (or $800!) - so sad. PLEASE don't buy teacup kittens unless you're adopting or it is part of a proper, well bred litter.

How cute! Would definitely do this for a birthday or an engagement.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

"We're getting ready to take over the world. My group of girlfriends - we're
renegades. "  ~ Lisa Bonet

Girlfriends are the sisters that God forgot to give you. What would we do without them? All the laughs, gossip, bitching and the usual shenanigans would just not be happening. And the girls who stick with you no matter what are precious indeed.

Not too long ago, my friends and I decided it was time to have a girls night. The semester had been super busy and we were all overwhelmed to say the least, so a fun night with the girls was definitely in order. The wine was a given. But decisions needed to be made. Would it be a paint-the-town-red kinda night or would it be more low-key? In the end, we were so exhausted and simply decided to have an understated night at Ariel's house, drinking wine, eating delish thin-crust pizza (that came out of a box, but you wouldn't have guessed it, it was so good) and carving pumpkins. Dancing was also involved. Here are some pictures from that fun night:

The whole gang!

 Lots of smiles :)

 Pumpkins!

Me being a goofball in the background while Ariel poses away...

Yay for pumpkin carving and girl talk - who knew?

 Yep, definitely the wine, hahaha!

Ariel's cat just chilling out and watching us dance around.

Good friends and wine- maybe throw in pumpkins and pizza while you're at it and voila, good old girl time. We didn't spend very much at all but we had an extremely good time and made great memories. It just goes to show you it's not what you do, but who you're with that matters.

Sometimes extremely low-key is just right!

Fall Fun

Here in Grand Forks, we were in quite the little (weather-related) bubble, safe from the snow that the East Coast was experiencing. Well, the bubble eventually burst. Two days ago, it snowed like mad and although there's nothing on the ground yet, it sure is getting pretty cold. I was going through some pictures I had of pretty fall weather and it made me miss the colors of this beautiful season along with the fun cold-weather activities that come with it. Here are some pictures of my friend Rae and I on one of our fall adventures:

Rae and I, having fun ...doing just about anything really :)

Rae loves taking pictures and she generously took a lot of me and the pretty furniture store we walked into which was decorated for fall.

I love the rich, saturated colors of fall - so festive!

And here are some other pictures Rae took while she was out and about:
This vivid orange would make a gorgeous dress or as color on a statement necklace
I love this picture - I wish it always looked like this!
Rae loves Halloween - her bedroom is Fall/Halloween themed!

Our friend, Ariel in a pile of leaves - isn't she a pretty little thing?
