Trend-Spotting: Black and White

This spring, black and white is all the rage and everyone who's anyone has been seen sporting the trend. My favorite look so far is Beyonce in a structured jumpsuit at the Grammy's:

Bey keeps it minimal with peep toe pumps, coordinating black and white cuffs and a sleek ponytail. She also had a bold red lip and splashed her toenails in the same color. I created four outfits below if you're looking for ways to wear this trend:

Outfit 1:
I chose a polka dotted fit and flare dress. I love the pattern which gives the dress almost a tribal feel and I think the high neck makes it very ladylike and sweet - perfect for spring! I paired the dress with some white heels, the think straps will be prominent on your feet and really bring out the white polka dots. I also added a quilted envelope clutch, a silver watch and a dainty infinity ring. Finally, red lips and toes a la Beyonce will finish off the look! You can wear this outfit to a meeting, a lunch date or even to church!

Outfit 2
If you want to look trendy yet still casual and comfy, then wear a flared leather skirt and pair it with a graphic tee. Cap-toed ballet flats and a studded bucket bag give just the right amount of casual cool. Pretty pink lips and nails keep the look playful.

Outfit 3
For a more sexed up feel, this b+w neoprene dress should do the trick. The black paneling defines your waist and gives you an hourglass shape and simple black pumps will add height. A small (yet slightly shimmery) box clutch and glam dangling earrings complete the look. Since sexy siren is what you're going for, do red lips and sleek hair.

Outfit 4
Tuxedo pants are still in style and paired with a black blouse and pumps creates a sophisticated look that is simple to put together.  The same clutch and earrings from outfit 3 can complete this look since the focus is on the pants.

I hope you give the black and white trend a try. Which of the four looks is your favorite? How would you wear this trend?

XOXO,
Chrissy
