Silk and Spice: Summer Lovin' (Part One)

Summer is just around the corner and what I like most about the season apart from the gorgeous weather is the part where we get to break out our colorful, cheerful closets and flaunt it like a rockstar! Since I was giddy with excitement about not having to hide under my big ugly parka to brave the frozen tundra (a.k.a North Dakota), I compiled a list of some of the great fashion trends this summer. 1. Breezy Chic
Beat the heat and look put together in these easy-to-wear-yet-polished dresses. This look can work for both a casual summer afternoon and still be perfect for work - just add a blazer and change from flats to heels!

2. Stripe Hype
Stripes are a spring/summer staple and this year is no exception. While the black (or navy, or red) and white combo is classic, don't be afraid to try some crazy colors - purple and yellow anyone? Channel your inner sailor with these nautical designs!

3. White Affair
The fastest way to look crisp and clean. Bring out that tan in a white ensemble! I like to accessorize my white outfits in one of two ways: pair it with neutral accessories like flat gladiators and a belt to cinch my waist in or team a white dress with pops of color in my choice of purse and/or shoes.
